717 Trading made a major decision in 2006 to start another factory at Changi Prison though much more funds were required to set up one there then.

It was also tough as it means retraining of all the existing staff to adapt to the new environment as well as training for the newly employed inmates. The inmates employed are trained to bake etc.

Their new skill sets will equip them with more job opportunities next time. Inmates that show effort or excel in their course of work will also receive a letter of recommendation from 717 Trading to aid their future job search in related industries. Some are also given opportunities to work in 717 Trading’s existing outlets after their release.
