Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour

Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour was founded in 1970 by Ang Yew Seng. After years of apprenticeship in the art and tradition of casket making starting at a tender age. Yew Seng started his own bereavement service provider and introduced lighter western style casket with Buddhist ornaments in favour of bulky and cumbersome Chinese coffins. Traditional Chinese coffins took a longer time to cremate compared to those introduced by Yew Seng. With the encouragement of cremation by the Singapore government, these new caskets proved to be popular and convenient. At the same time, Yew Seng gained reputation for workmanship in his stylised caskets.

From these simple beginnings of casket making in Thomson Road, we have evolved to provide comprehensive and professional funeral services for the community. Yew Seng, being a devout Buddhist, worked closely with Bright Hill Buddhist Temple and the late reverend, Master Hong Chuan to bring in-depth knowledge of customs and traditions to his services. We have since extended our services to families of other faiths, catering to each individual's unique customs and needs.

In line with Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour's philosophy of serving the community, we provide assistance to several charity organizations and numerous old folk's homes. Over the years, the philosophy of Ang Yew Seng Funeral Parlour has remined the same - "To serve personally with dedication as a friend".
