Well, the reasons to have a swimming are many but it also requires a little work and a little effort to clean and maintain it properly. After all, it is a precious commodity - you do not want to spoil it or just neglect it!

Thus, cleaning the pool is very important. The swimming pool is kept clean by the filters and the pumps. They suck out all the debris and the dirt. So, you should clean these cartridges and filters regularly too or else the efficiency will go down and your utility bills will rise up dramatically - now you definitely do not want that happening!

The first and foremost tip is to procure a good quality cartridge for your filtration pump. It is a very critical aspect and thus some research and some money is well spent. As and when you think it is time to clear the filter and give it a good clean, switch off the pump and carefully remove the filter

Now, the best thing to do is to be in the garden with the filter, switch on the garden hose and just rinse off the filter thoroughly

Next important step is to make sure that after a good rinse, it dries properly. The best way is to put it in the sunshine for an entire day. Did you know that sun rays have some great properties of killing any algae or other bacteria that might be growing there?

The next logical step is to get a light and soft brush and just gently brush the dried filter

Post this activity, read the your instruction manual carefully. This is the time hen you will have to soak the filter in chlorine water (the proportion of the chemicals to water will be clearly given). Please do this activity after a careful reading of the manual because more or even less of chlorine might do the filter some harm

Put this liquid and the filters in it in a container with lid on top. It is advisable to carry on this activity for a couple of days (ideal - 3-4)

After a couple of days, take the filters out and rinse it off with plain water

Allow it to again dry in the sunshine for an entire day

After this, is the last step of dipping the filters in nitric acid (please ask the experts or read the manual carefully)

Take it out, shake it well, allow it to dry and the filters are re-usable again!
