Miele is one of the rare manufacturers of home appliances that are still family-owned since its inception in 1899. In Singapore where i lived, it has marketed itself as a premium brand for kitchen appliances. However, in europe, for almost a century, it is being regarded as a brand that makes durable washers and vacuums. Its washing machine lifespan of 20yrs is almost legendary in europ, where most customers rave about them in forums and accorded must-buy status in consumer watchguides.Their vacuums are more regarded than their nearest bagless competitors. However in Singapore, It is not the case. Consumers are not properly served by unbiased test reports and consumer watchguides.Instead , they go to big electrical stores and and depending on which promoters they are being served on, will leave every stores with a new perspectives on a different brand.My purpose,therefore is to give you a better insight on what is the actual strength of this perceived expensive brand in singapore. Miele has always build products with this philosophy in mind, immer besser, which means forever better in german. Its washers, dryers, and dishwashers are vigorously tested, and made in germany for that purpose. It has patented a drum the "honeycomb" drum, that dont tear your most delicate laundry apart.They typically make washers and dryers up to 7kg in load capacity. However, with the trend of bigger loads up to even 12kg, led by leading korean brands in particular, consumers are being led away from purchasing this expensive brand that cant handle the larger loads that other brands are offering. The reality is that Big normally dont always last, and normally unreliable. Most washers are built under a 60cm by 60cm niche. How much further can u extend the drum size and dont compromise in build quality? The fact is, miele doesnt compromise, thats what you are spending that premium price on. For vacuum cleaners, miele has been researching on, and concluded that their sealed, bagged system is the most hygenic for allergy sufferers and has bagged alot of awards and functuanality and durability. However with the trend on bagless systems, consumers are being led on that bag systems clogged and buying bags are a hassle and a waste of money. However, if hygiene has a cost, it is not a big cost maintaining this particular hygiene and they guarantees spare parts and dustbags for 15 yrs after production! This article is to correct the falsyfying myths in Singapore that miele is only a brand that rich people buy for beautiful kitchen appliances. It is steeped in history first and fore-most as a washing machines and vacuum cleaners that are built to last a long long time.
